Cigna Employee Assistance
Confidential services are available to covered employees and household members. You have access to a list of Cigna providers that are dedicated to and experienced in supporting First Responders. Talk to Cigna clinicians over the phone, through live chat, or face-to-face. Your EAP plan covers 8 FREE visits per member of household (per issue) for the calendar year. If you need continued treatment, the coverage may be extended for Cigna covered members under the medical plan. If you make an appointment and do Not like your clinician or you are not satisfied with the visit, contact Cigna to request an alternate.
IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery
The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one-of-a-kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members – and IAFF members only – who are struggling with addiction, PTSD other related behavioral health challenges to receive the help they need in taking the first steps toward recovery. It is a safe haven for members to talk with other members who have faced or overcome similar challenges.
Things to Know- The Center of Excellence is an In Network Facility with Cigna. You will need to purchase your plane ticket to Maryland, which is where the center is located. An IAFF member will pick you up at the airport and take you directly to the facility. The use of cell phones are not permitted for the first week during treatment.
UCF RESTORES is a treatment clinic that provides clinical services to veterans, active duty military, first responders, survivors of trauma, and community members experiencing posttraumatic stress disorder and trauma-related concerns. Our team of psychologists has developed a multi-disciplinary treatment approach that utilizes technology and exposure techniques to reduce the distressing symptoms that often accompany the direct or indirect experience of a traumatic event.

Program services are offered by the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) as part of the member benefit package, and come at no cost to members of NVFC or their immediate family.

Shatterproof is designed to help First Responders overcome specific obstacles and increase their ability to manage their emotions during stressful situations, without turning to self-medication.
